An Elf’s Work is Never Done….Good Thing We Love What We Do!

Being an elf is a very special job. Not everyone get to be an elf and have fun while working at the Ornament Factory. Life is not all about work for us though, we do know how to let loose and have a good time. Little Daniel the Elf here! I was hoping to share with you all about a typical day for me.

My morning…..

A typical morning for me and the other elves starts out with waking up and getting some exercise in. Exercise is a great way to start your day. Do you enjoy exercising or know someone who does. This Gym Dandy Hallmark Keepsake Ornament would be a great ornament to give someone who enjoys their time at the gym.

hallmark-1989-gym-dandy.jpg

After some exercise, which usually includes walking my my sweet dog, Charlie, I eat my breakfast. I’m not super picky about what I eat for breakfast so I usually have a bowl of cereal or some scrambled eggs.

This is an Hallmark Keepsake Ornament that reminds me of when my Charlie was just a puppy. It is Puppy Love #14. Look for a future blog about the Hallmark Ornament Puppy Love series.

hallmark_2004_puppy_love.jpg

After all of that, it is time to head to The Ornament Factory to get to work. When we arrive there we have to check on the orders that have come in over night and start pulling those from the selves. Check out this cool 2018 Hallmark Ornament! It is Chutes and Ladders, Family Game Night #5.

By Mid Day…….

By mid day we have lots of orders boxed and labeled ready to be picked up. Lunchtime is always enjoyable being able to hang out with the other elves. Elliott the Head Elf here at The Ornament Factory always makes sure that we aren’t taking too long of a lunch break. Most of the time, the elves have a sandwich and chips for lunch. All of the elves have different lunch boxes. We have matching Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments for our lunchboxes. Brandon the Elf has the Star Wars lunch box. He’s a big Star Wars fan!

Little Daniel the Elf has the Mickey Mouse lunchbox. He has Mickey Mouse everything!

It is always nice to chat with everyone else about what is going on in their lives and what they have coming up. I also really like that I can get dinner ideas from my friends. After a great lunch with the other elves it is back to work we go.

Ending Our Work Day…..

Lots of boxes have been packed and labeled, ready to be shipped out tomorrow. Lots of Hallmark Ornaments have been pulled from the shelves while many have been restocked to the shelves after they were inventoried. The floors have been swept and the counters have been wiped down. Our day has come to an end. After a great day working we like to make sure we clean up around the workshop so we can start the next day easier.

I hope you have enjoyed this small incite into my day. Time to get back to it!

Elliott, the Head Elf

Star Trek Themed Hallmark Ornaments, Collect Them all!

If you are a Trekkie, or you have someone on your Christmas list who is, now is an excellent time to add to your collection. The line was first released in 1991 and has been going strong ever since. The first ornament for sale was the Starship Enterprise. In 2010, due to the popularity of the Star Trek line, Hallmark started the “Star Trek Legends,” which began with Captain James T. Kirk as the headliner 1st in the series.

2018 Revealed…

Those Trekkie fans who can’t get enough have been waiting with baited breath to find out what the new releases for 2018 will be. The word is finally out, the 2018 collection will add six more ornaments to the mix. This year, Hallmark has even added one from the Star Trek animated series.

Star Trek Hallmark Ornaments Released in July 2018

In July of this year, Hallmark released the scene from “The Name Time” where Sulu is fencing, while Captain Kirk ducks atop the Enterprise bridge. The ornament is a “magic” one and has an audio chip that plays the dialogue from the movie that makes it even more spectacular. Also, in July, the Starfleet tricorder was revealed from the Original Series. It too is a magic ornament that lights up with and plays the original Trek dialogue. The third release in July was the Crossfield-class DSS Discovery, announced and anticipated since September 2017. Lastly, the Constitution-class USS Enterprise was a throwback from the original Hallmark ornament first released in 1991. It is the seventh TOS-Era Enterprise Hallmark ornament.

October 2018 Hallmark Ornament Surprise

Hallmark wanted to make Star Trek something super special this year and decided to reserve a few of the Star Trek Hallmark ornaments for convention-only exclusives. 2018’s will be the 45th-anniversary commemoration of Star Trek: The Animated Series. It is a two pack ornament collection that contains the alien crew member favorites from the show. Officer M’Ress and Alex, a three-armed navigator, are the very first Star Trek Hallmark ornaments fashioned after the Animated Series. And, once more, one of the few rare pieces of TAS merchandise ever to be available.

Where can you get the Star Trek Animated Series Hallmark Ornaments?

Since the Animated Series will only be available as convention-exclusives and not in Hallmark stores, it will make them some of the rarest and most valuable parts of the collection for years to come. If you can get your hands on one you will have a very select collection.

For the Star Trek fan, the wait is over. All six collectible Star Trek Hallmark ornaments have been revealed. Available for sale, don’t miss out on adding to your collection this year. They are already in limited supply and going fast. Whether you are the one collecting or you have a Star Trek fan on your holiday list, now is the time to get the latest Star Trek Hallmark ornament collections or risk missing out! Check out all the great Star Trek Hallmark ornaments available at Hallmark Ornaments today.

The Best Way to Showcase Your Halloween Hallmark Ornaments

With all this talk about Hallmark Halloween Ornaments, most people use ornaments to decorate their Christmas tree, there are others who don’t want to make Hallmark ornaments only about the Christmas holiday. If you are someone who loves Halloween, why not show off your Halloween spirit by displaying some of the coolest, creepiest, and downright ghoulie, Hallmark ornaments that trick or treaters will get a kick out of. Hallmark ornaments aren’t just for Christmas. They are excellent year round, especially at Halloween.

Where to Hang Your Halloween Hallmark Ornaments

If you are having a hard time figuring out where to display your ornaments, the best place to showcase them is in your entryway. Put up a string over your front door to hang your most prized Halloween Hallmark ornaments so that people see them right away. The ornaments will look super festive, and they’ll be there for everyone to see when they enter. Trick or treaters will also be excited by the fun surprise of different colors, characters, and intricate scenes that are the signature of Halloween Hallmark ornaments.

Around the Front Porch

If you really want to go all-out, hang your Halloween Hallmark ornaments on the front porch awning or even on the railing. As long as they are sheltered from inclement weather, you can hang them outdoors for curbside onlookers to see. If you are concerned about leaving them outdoors, hang them from a plant and bring them outdoors when it is nice and move them easily indoors when it isn’t.

Around Your Halloween Party Table

If you are having a Halloween party, the perfect way to showcase your Hallmark Halloween ornaments is to have them hanging as a decorative centerpiece to your buffet. They not only make the room more festive, but they are also an excellent conversation piece. Stick with one Halloween theme to make it a themed party, or throw all sorts of characters together to make it a mish-mash of Halloween fun. Have a Charlie Brown themed pumpkin patch party, or make it Wizard of Oz. That’s the fun of Halloween Hallmark ornaments; there are hundreds to choose from.

They Also Make Great Hostess Gifts

The Joy of Holiday Lights!

Happy Thursday to you all! The elves and I are hard at work here at The Ornament Factory! Lots of orders going out from new 2018 Hallmark October Ornament release. Have you ordered you ordered yours yet?

As the other elves and I get ready for Halloween it got me thinking about what my favorite part of Halloween is. I feel like my favorite part of every holiday has changed as I have gotten older. For Halloween it use to be the candy, what kid does not love candy? Reese’s Cups to be exact! Then it was getting dressed up. It was fun planning what to be and if I was going to get dressed up with my friends. Now, I would say it is the Halloween lights. Putting up lights for Halloween is a newer thing to do I feel. I have always been a big fan of Christmas lights so it makes sense that I would love Halloween lights too. Driving through our neighborhood last night and seeing all the lights with some of the other elves was fun. Jackson was so excited and pointing out the different houses with lights on them.  Don’t get me wrong, I am still looking forward to the candy and dressing up for Halloween but the lights are beautiful and fun to look at.

We put up our Halloween lights this past weekend. Jackson the elf was so excited! There are ghosts flying around on the garage door and spiders crawling up the house. Finishing it off are the two cute pumpkins glowing orange on the front porch. Over at Brandon the elf’s house he has these two huge inflatables in the front yard that look amazing! It is so much fun doing all of these fun traditions, new and old, for the holidays.

Since I am on the topic of Halloween, have you gotten your Halloween ornaments yet? My tree us up and looking beautiful. It has a lot of lights on it too. I went with white and orange lights this year. I did find some really pretty purple ones. Maybe I will do those next year or on one of my Christmas trees that’s beautifully decorated with my Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.

Here is one of my favorite Hallmark Halloween ornaments! The Master is one of the Hallmark Keepsake ornaments for your Halloween tree that we have in stock! Check out what other Hallmark Halloween ornaments we have in stock for you!

That’s all from me for now! Have a great day!

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments – Barbie Collection – A Memoir

Ever since I can remember my entire family has always had a Christmas tree that is filled with Hallmark ornaments.  The tree was always special because of the variety of ornaments and each meant something special to someone in my family.  I had two brothers and two sisters so Christmas was always exciting for the family.   As part of our tradition, we would always get the daughter and son ornaments as well as the an ornament from a series that was our own collection.  My collection is the Barbie Hallmark ornament series.

Each year, I look forward to seeing what the new ornament will be there are always favorites and each year you compare it to the last.  The ornaments from Hallmark are a tradition in my family and is a tradition that will be carried on with my family of my own someday and I can’t wait to put my new barbie ornament on the tree this year.

Barbie Debut 1994

Barbie Debut 1994

One of my favorites is the first ornament in the series.  This classic Barbie dressed in her black and white striped swimsuit was released in 1994 and became the first of many in the collection.  This was one of my first ornaments that I was given.

I remember hanging her up for the first time – her golden hair shined underneath the yellow lights.  I put her next to my brother’s Babe Ruth ornament.   I loved her so much that the next year, I asked for her brunette sister.

Holiday Barbie 2000

Holiday Barbie 2000

My second favorite Barbie ornament I got a few years later in 2000.  She was dressed in a flowing metallic silver dress that gleamed in the Christmas lights.  Her blonde hair was soft and I’d always brush it perfectly before I hung her up.  My younger sister was always so jealous of this ornament and I’d always catch her playing with it on Christmas Eve.

My memories of Hallmark’s Christmas Barbie ornaments will always have a treasured spot in my heart.  The entire Barbie Hallmark series brought me so much happiness each year.  I can’t wait till I have daughters of my own and I can pass these keepsakes on to them and tell them stories about each of them.  I can only hope that they will take as much joy in hanging each one carefully on the tree as I did when I was a little girl.

Preview of 2012 Star Trek Hallmark Ornaments

We know that the 2011 ornament JUST came out, but we thought we’d give you a sneak peak of what is to come for 2012 just for fun! Every year at the San Diego Comic Convention (San Diego ComicCon, or SDCC), it has become a tradition to unveil the Star Trek Hallmark ornaments for the next year, and so now we are going to share what we learned with you.

2012 Dr. McCoy Hallmark Ornament

2012 Dr. McCoy Hallmark Ornament, #3 in the Star Trek Legends series.

Dr. McCoy is the 3rd in the Star Trek™ Legends ornament series, and the 2012 edition will have a very detailed Dr. McCoy holding a test tube and some medical equipment. As you can see just by glancing at the 2012 ornament, it will have a lot more detail than the original Dr. McCoy Hallmark ornament that was released back in 1997. The 2012 ornament will also feature Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in sick bay, where most Trekkies were accustomed to seeing him perform medical miracles, rather than in a one-person transporter chamber. Needless to say, we feel that the 2012 ornament is definitely an upgrade from the ornament released back in 1997. Way to go Hallmark!

2012 Spocks Hallmark Ornament

2012 Spocks Hallmark Ornament; a scene from Star Trek 2009

The second 2012 Star Trek™ Hallmark ornament features Spock™ and … Spock™! This ornament depicts a scene from the 2009 Star Trek feature film, where the Spocks from the two different realities met at the end of the movie. This was definitely a classic moment in Star Trek “lore”, where the past and the present came together; where the torch was passed from one generation to the next. This ornament will feature dialogue from that scene.

Enterprise D 2012 Hallmark Ornament

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D 2012 Hallmark Ornament

Last but not least, we’re excited to share the new Star Trek lighted ship ornament for 2012, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, from Star Trek, The Next Generation. Unlike the original Enterprise D Hallmark Ornament that was released in 1993, this ornament will be powered by batteries instead of by a miniature light string. This Enterprise is very similar to the 2006 Enterprise Hallmark ornament. It will sit upon a base and will be easily displayed in two different ways – either on a Christmas tree or on a table top. The 2012 Enterprise D ornament is being released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

Of course, no one has these ornaments for sale right now, but The Ornament Factory will have them available … in July of 2012.

For THIS year’s Christmas tree, you can add 3 new Star Trek Hallmark Ornaments, Mr. Spock (#2 in the Star Trek Legends series), Mirror, Mirror (which features an evil Spock mind-melding with Dr. McCoy), and a 23rd-century Romulan Bird-of-Prey.

Fleeing the Fiendfyre

Fleeing the Fiendfyre

“Fleeing the Fiendfyre” features the trio of best friends (Harry, Hermione and Ronald, of course!) in a scene in which they quickly fleeing on their brooms from a burst of fire. This ornament is sure to delight, as it will most definitely add some color to any tree!

This ornament will be available on opening day of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on July 15th!

Dobby the elf is featured in the 2010 edition of the series. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry tricks Lucius Malfoy into presenting his servant Dobby with a dirty sock.

In the first Potions lesson, the dreaded Professor Snape orders Harry Potter to prepare a vile mixture said to cure boils. It includes dried nettles, crushed snake fangs, horned slugs, and porcupine quills. Snape watches Harry carefully, hoping in vain to catch him make a mistake. When another student forgets to add the quills after taking his potion off the fire, the cauldron melts into a twisted blob. Harry is blamed for the accident and wonders more than ever, “Why does Snape hate me so much?”

The Potions Master – 2001 Harry Potter Hallmark Keepsake Ornament

This 2001 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament titled “The Potions Master” includes Professor Snape looking on as Harry Potter creates his potion. Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger look on in the background.  This ornament also has a special lighting effect! Attach the clip, which is located inside the base of this ornament, directly to a lamp socket on a miniature light string. MAGIC!

Our favorite is the 2000 release of the pewter Harry Potter ornament.  It features Harry in a game of Quidditch leaning off his beloved Nimbus 2000 in an attempt to catch the Golden Snitch.  It captures the moment beautifully in pewter with a gold accent on the legendary Snitch.
